It is also known as the "opium of the people" and the passion of the masses. It is a global industry that involves fabulous sums of money. It is also a science, a fascinating sport that requires art and skill and involves both the poor and the rich, who on the field or on TV screens express their loyalty or sympathy. It is a school where young people and adults end up establishing social relationships that contribute to their physical and intellectual development on the basis of mutual respect and fair play. Football is a political flag for many states and governments. And as Nelson Mandela said: "Football has the power to change the world."
